Hey y'all, this is Candy!
Like Sugar said, I have gotten myself into some crazy adventures. I want to start with just Barroom for this post. For those of you who don't know, it is a dance club for 18+ downtown and costs $10 a person. Sassy and I are the biggest cheapskates and find the craziest ways to get in for free every week. Guys, you probably think that this is easy. All we have to do is flash a guy or show a toothy smile- wrong. Most guys are just as cheap at 18; however, we still have saved over $400 on our 20+ visits here every Thursday night.
The first way we got in, we met foreigners who are paid thousands of dollars every month. We pulled the "our boyfriends just ditched us" line and got in for free. As we networked through their friends we managed to get a few weeks of dancing out of them. We were nice though and danced with them though (we are not that shallow). And we made it clear from the beginning we were strictly dance partners. Usually Sassy finds me on the center platform dancing though, I am not a fan of the foreigner's style of dance. I hate dance partners.
Then we moved onto the sneaking in phase. We would get to the door and then look at the guys behind us to pay so the bouncer thought we had good intentions to pay. Then we they looked at the guy who had no idea what we were doing, we would run in quickly saving the boys money too.
Then once, I won tickets to skip to the front of the line. The bouncer does not like us though, surprise, so that was not any better than normal.
We have tried saying "we know so-and-so from the back", even though we had no idea if that person existed. Once we found out the bouncers name and we tried to sweet talk him with googly eyes and sweet alliterations for his name. This got us out of the line pretty quickly.
Another way Sassy and I have gotten in was thanks to her single moves. One night I was asking everyone if they had seen a short elf running around, just kidding, but close enough. Someone recognized her description and pointed me to the kitchen. I found her with a chef, while the manager was alone we struck up conversation. I told him I have a boyfriend for many obvious reasons. From here on out, Sassy and I were golden. We got in every week for free. I even lived my dream and rode the bull! We even started getting friends in VIP too.
Together we have made hundreds of memories here. We have went into the DJ booth and hung out, we've been front and center for fist fights, gone into the men's restroom and hung out with the bathroom attendants, and more. Dancing is how we let loose from our rigorous work load every week!
